"I assess the financial assistance provided by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for repair of glasses of Strasburg Cathedral Church as a generous gesture and Azerbaijan's contribution to Europe and its cultural heritage," said Rolan Ries, mayor of Strasburg, during official presentation of the financial assistance by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
"Azerbaijan is a member to the Council of Europe. Together with its cultural heritage, Azerbaijan pays attention to and takes care of the European cultural heritage. The Strasburg Cathedral Church, which was the highest church of Christianity in the Middle Ages, is part of the European cultural heritage. Taking an active part in the cultural sphere, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation pays a great attention to forming a positive image of Azerbaijan in the international arena. This is estimable," the mayor said.
It should be noted that the charitable campaign carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is aimed at contributing to the repair of five glass network of the Strasburg Cathedral Church belonging to the 14th century.
The lives of Holy Mary and Jesus Christ have been reflected on these glasses established in 1320-1340.
In addition, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation provided financial assistance to repair of two monuments demonstrated in Palace of Versailles of France
