Georgia, Tbilisi, Sept. 2 / Trend , N.Kirtzkhalia/

On Sept. 1, Russian border guards detained three Georgians trying to cross into the Tsalendzhihsky district of Georgia, for violating the so-called borders of Abkhazia in the Lekuhon village of the Galski region, said a media center of the Abkhaz government in exile.

According to the source, the Russian military personnel accused the detainees of attempting to illegally cross the so-called border and took them to their headquarters for questioning. "Later, after the intervention by representatives of the village administration, the detainees were released," said the source.

After that, the border guards warned village residents not to leave home without a passport. "Even when you go to the neighbors, keep your passport with you, otherwise you will have problems," the guards told the village residents. According to the source, the border guards use dogs and carefully monitor the movement of the local population in order to strengthen border control.
