Four Azerbaijanis seamen from the Buket ship, which was detained by the Georgian border guards, may leave Georgia on Sept. 4. The owners of the ship paid the fine for them, a source in the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia told trend News.
Officers of the Georgian Border Guard Police detained the 'Bouquet' ship sailing to Abkhazia from Turkey. The crew of the ship consists of 17 persons, including 13 Turkish citizens, and 4 Azerbaijanis. The captain of the tanker, a Turkish citizen, Mehmet Ozturk was sentenced to 24 years imprisonment in Georgia.
The Turkish owners of the ship sailing under the Panamanian flag paid a fine in the amount of $30,000 to release the entire crew of the tanker.
Azerbaijani citizens Tariel Nasirov, 41, Asker Askerov, 32, Vusal Hamzayev, 24 and Akram Zamanov, 28, can leave Georgia on Sept. 5.
The tanker will be sold through auction.
On Sept. 7, the Turkish Foreign Minister will visit Georgia to mull the reduction of Ozturk's imprisonment term, Turkish media said.
