On Sept. 7-8, the Georgian Foreign Ministry hosted the Georgian-Finnish political consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries.
During the meetings, the sides discussed a wide range of bilateral and multilateral relations, the ministry reported. In bilateral relations, the sides particularly highlighted the projects, funded by the Finnish side. The Georgian side thanked the delegation of Finland for their assistance in the field of energy, trade and environmental protection.
The Finnish program "European wide initiative" was discussed in bilateral relations, which provides for the maintenance of security and stability among the partner countries. It also dealt with the energy security of Europe and prospects of cooperation between Georgia and Finland in the energy sector.
The parties also discussed the priorities of the Georgia-EU cooperation and further deepening of relations.
