Turkmenistan follows its way to build highly-developed nation: ambassador

Turkmenistan continues to build highly-developed country. Entire available potential is aimed to achieve a high level of people's welfare and development of mutually beneficial relations with all world countries, Turkmen Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anamammad Mammadov said at a press conference dedicated Turkmen President's speech on the 64-th session of UN General Assembly.
Ambassador stressed that Turkmenistan is also interested in deepening fraternal and neighborly relations with neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan, and referred to Turkmen President Berdymukhamedov's speech.
During general political debate on the 64-th session of UN General Assembly Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov proposed to engage UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia in efforts to solve the situation in Afghanistan. He also called for creation of new, universal model of relations in the world energy sphere.
According to the Turkmen president, current global realities call for closer cooperation between countries and largets international organizations to ensure global peace and security, terms for further development and progress, preservation of legal and moral foundations laid in the modern world order.
He said that it is impossible to implement these goals without recognition of UN importance.
"The United Nations must become a basis in creative activity of countries to build a fair and balanced system of international relations," Berdymukhamedov said at the UN General Assembly.
During his speech, he stressed importance of establishment of dialogue to discuss regional problems in Central Asian and Caspian regions, transit of energy resources, holding of the international conference on disarmament in Central Asia, the Caspian Basin, etc.
