Astana Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov applied to the Parliament on Thursday to approve financial aid to families of victims, died in a massive fire occurred in technological complex AstanaProm in the amount of 1 million tenge ($1 is 160.6 tenge)
"The Kazakh president has instructed the city executive power to render necessary moral and material assistance to victims' families," Tasmagambetov said while addressing the city council.
The proposal was unanimously supported.
The massive fire occurred last Monday, killing 14 people, including four Russian citizens. Emergency Minister Vladimir Bozhko said fire occurred due to non-observance of industrial safety during the welding works. The fire covered the area about 8,000 square meters.
