Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb. 8 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
Regardless of who will be elected as the president of Ukraine, Georgia will continue to develop relations with the country, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said at a briefing today.
She added that Georgia will respect the Ukrainian people's choice, whatever it will be.
"We support close relations with Ukraine and see it as a strategic partner, It is impossible to sow discord in these relations," she said, when replying to a question about whether the election of Viktor Yanukovich would threaten Georgian-Ukrainian relations.
"We strongly believe that skeptics' statements that Ukraine will revise its policy toward Georgia's territorial integrity and will impose a visa regime after Yanukovich takes office have no basis," the deputy minister said.
