There was an emergency situation on the protective dam on the river Kura in the village Nahalig (25 km from the district center) in Sabirabad region, a statement said.
According to the report, water in the Kura River flooded to the lake Sarisu. Reconstruction and rehabilitation measures were held on the dam with the help of technology and other relevant organizations. Flow was stopped in the two places. At the moment, restoration work is being held.
Floods in 40 Azerbaijani regions have been recently registered. About 20,000 houses were flooded, more than 300 destroyed, 2,000 were in emergency condition, 50,000 hectares of cultivated land were under water as a result of the disaster.
