Gigi Kalandadze was appointed Chief of the Georgian Armed Forces by Georgian Defense Minister's order.
Gigi Kalandadze, who was commander of the Fourth Infantry Brigade, served as commander from January 27, the Ministry of Defence said.
Former commander Shmagi Telia remains in the Armed Forces.
In April, the Georgian parliament adopted an amendment to the legislation under which the Air Force moved into the structure of the Army.
