NATO spokesman James Appathurai described today's NATO-Georgia Commission meting ongoing in Brussels as "extremely important for Georgia and NATO."

"We have a national program of cooperation and this is important. Georgia has donated large contributions in peacekeeping operations, for which we are infinitely grateful to it," Appathurai said.

He also noted that NATO supports Georgia's territorial integrity. "There is no compromise in this matter and never will be," Appathurai said.

Appathurai stressed the fact that the alliance supports the reforms in Georgia and promises at the Bucharest NATO summit are in force. "NATO's doors are open for Georgia," he said.
