Saakashvili meets with speaker of U.S. House of Representatives

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress Speaker John Boehner stressed in Washington the need for further reforms on Georgia's way to freedom and democracy.
According to the Georgian Presidential Administration, it was Saakashvili's first official meeting in the United States during his current visit.
The sides noted the importance of fulfilling obligations undertaken by Tbilisi. Boehner thanked Saakashvili for Georgia's support to the United States in combating terrorism, particularly in Afghanistan and Iraq.
President Saakashvili arrived in the United States to attend the events in memory of Richard Holbrooke two days ago. He also intends to hold several official meetings in Washington.
