U.S. First Deputy Secretary of State James B. Steinberg is expected to visit Tbilisi on Wednesday night. As the Georgian State Chancellery told Trend, Steinberg will meet with top local officials.
Steinberg will visit Georgia within his visit to South Caucasus, Albania and Bosnia. The U.S. delegation will arrive in Tbilisi from Yerevan and will leave for Baku on Feb. 24.
"Steinberg will be accompanied by Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasian Affairs Phillip Gordon in the three Caucasus countries. During the meetings with the leaders of the countries, they will discuss bilateral relations and regional security. In each country, they will also meet with representatives of civil society and media outlets," the White House said in a statement.
