Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili offered his condolences to the families of the victims on board an airplane that crashed in the Congo, his spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said at a traditional briefing on Tuesday.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili offered his condolences to the families of the victims on board an airplane that crashed in the Congo, his spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said at a traditional briefing on Tuesday.

"The plane crash in Congo killed four Georgian citizens. The president expressed his condolences and support to the families of the victims," she said.

Manjgaladze said Saakashvili hopes the investigation will uncover the causes of the tragedy.

A UN mission plane crashed in the Congo's capital of Kinshasa. The plane with 33 people on board was owned by the Airzena company. According to updated information only one passenger was rescued.
