Opposition leader postpones return to Georgia

One of the leaders of the Georgian party, former Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili has temporarily postponed his return to Georgia, Party Chairman Sozar Subari said at a special press conference today.

Subari said Okruashvili postponed his return to the country, as the People's Assembly refused to cooperate with him on specific plans. "We have excluded from the agenda our rally scheduled for May 25. We provide the People's Assembly a complete freedom in activities. We will observe how and what Nino Burjanadze can do independently," the part said.

Okruashvili's return is temporarily canceled, but not removed from the agenda

Earlier, Okruashvili said he will arrive in Georgia on May 25 and participate in events that will end the Saakashvili regime.

The radical opposition has been holding rallies demanding the resignation of President Mikheil Saakashvili.
