Azerbaijani MP accused the International Organization for Migration (IOM) of that it does not address the appeals of Azerbaijanis living in Iran.
Co-chairman of the World Azerbaijanis Congress, MP Sabir Rustamkhanli said this in his speech on the second day of III Congress of World Azerbaijanis.
He said the IOM is considering the appeals of other peoples and responds to them, does not consider the appeals of Azerbaijanis living in Iran. So after returning to Iran, they are punished.
He said the rights of 35 million Azerbaijanis living in Iran are violated every day.
Having said that Azerbaijanis are unable to name their children in their native language, the MP sharply criticized the policies of the Iranian government with regards to the Azerbaijanis living there.
He mentioned the importance of creating an educational television and tele-education.
He believes it is important to amend the country's legislation to provide benefits to Azerbaijanis living abroad, but wishing to receive education in Azerbaijan.
