Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.14 / Trend, E.Mehdiyev /

Azerbaijani ruling party considers small political parties' natural unification in major parties as possible.

"The process of political parties' concentration should happen naturally. That is, if certain political parties can not function properly, they can unite in major parties, and this should happen naturally," Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Mubariz Gurbanly told Trend on Saturday.

He said at present, there are over 45 registered political parties and about 100 political organizations in Azerbaijan, which made themselves known, but do not function.
"Some registered parties do not function in fact. But at present artificial unification of political parties is impossible in our society. It is impossible because it would be wrong to offer any party to join another in terms of political ethics," Gurbanly said.
He said establishment of a party, its activities, unification with other parties and collapse are natural political processes and no one can carry out it artificially.

"Azerbaijan is a democratic country and laws are observed here, therefore, political parties in Azerbaijan should function within the law. We are observing the process of the parties' unification in blocs. This enables us to predict that major political parties will be created and there will be political struggle between them, Mr Gurbanly said.
