The Azerbaijani parliament has proposed to approve an amnesty act in connection with the upcoming Novruz holiday at a meeting on Wednesday. MP Iqbal Aghazade made such a proposal.
He said it would be good if some prisoners had celebrated Novruz at home with their families and loved ones.
"This will create a new mood, an incentive for the Azerbaijani Parliament and the society," MP said. "If the parliament fails to accept such an act of amnesty before the holiday, it will be necessary to apply for signing the next pardon decree."
