During his visit to Peru Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru, Jose Luis Silva Martinot, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend on Thursday.
At the meeting, Martinot provided information about the economy, trade relations of his country and expressed Peru's interest in establishing economic ties with Azerbaijan.
Noting that Peru has extensive economic ties both with countries of Latin America and with Europe, Martinot pointed to favorable investment climate in the country.
He also stressed the readiness of his country to create appropriate opportunities for attracting investment from Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, in turn, stressed the importance of mutual visits and business forums to expand trade and economic relations between Peru and Azerbaijan.
Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan has experience of cooperation in economic sphere with various countries, including countries in Latin America, and expressed confidence that cooperation in this area will be fruitful for both countries.
After the meeting, Mammadyarov invited Martinot to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan. Martinot accepted the invitation and expressed his desire to pay a visit together with a delegation of businessmen.
