Tourism Association of Turkey called on citizens not to succumb to provocations, 'Sabah' newspaper of Turkey wrote on Wednesday.

According to the newspaper, the association stated that protests held in various cities of Turkey are causing great damage to the tourism sector of the country.

Earlier it was reported that about 30 percent of foreign tourists canceled bookings in hotels of Istanbul. It was also reported that the number of canceled reservations in hotels located near Taksim Square is expected to increase.

According to the report of the Tourism Association of Turkey, during the last five months of Istanbul have been attended by more than three million foreign tourists.

Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said that the damage from the protests in Turkey hit over 70 million liras.
