The USA is intending to send four F-16 fighter jets in the coming weeks, Al Jazeera TV channel informed on Tuesday.
It is stated that Washington sent eight F-16 fighter jets to Egypt in December of last year. The US has to deliver an additional eight jet fighters to Egypt in January of 2014. The US government explained that the delivery of four helicopters in the near future is connected with the fact that currently, Egypt is going through a turbulent period.
The Egyptian Army ousted Mohammed Morsi from power on July 3 suspending the legitimacy of the constitution temporarily. It ordered the head of the Constitutional Court of the country, Adli Mansur to carry out the responsibilities of the head of state for a transitional period.
Currently Morsi is being kept in one of the barracks of the Egyptian Armed Forces, according to the media.
Egyptian Islamists do not recognise the army's decision and demand a return to power of the legally elected president.
