The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov visited New York on August 6 to participate at the UN Security Council's open discussions on cooperation between the UN and sub-regional organisations in the protection of international peace and security.
According to the official Foreign Ministry's website, the meeting will be chaired by the Argentinian President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.
It is expected that Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will make a speech at the UN Security Council and hold bilateral meetings.
