At the meeting of Musavat party's divan held on Monday, the head of the party Isa Gambar made a decision to withdraw his candidacy in favor of the single candidate from the National Council, Jamil Hasanli, the press-service of Musavat party told Trend.
During the meeting Isa Gambar declared about the withdrawal of his candidacy. Thus, the decision of the party's council adopted on January 4 is considered ineffective, the press-service said.
Presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on October 9. Previous presidential elections were held on October 15, 2008.
The presidential elections in Azerbaijan are held every five years.
