Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov received the Ambassador of Pakistan in Azerbaijan Ikramullah Mehsud, the ministry's website said on Thursday.
During the meeting, the minister informed the guest about the work being done in the field of disaster management in the country and about the activities of structures within the ministry.
The importance of expanding cooperation between the relevant agencies for joint prevention and elimination of consequences of natural disasters and man-made disasters was stressed.
The minister expressed his condolences to the ambassador on the numerous victims of a strong earthquake in the Pakistani province of Baluchistan and suggested carrying out search and rescue operations and to provide other assistance in the regions affected by the earthquake.
For his part, the ambassador stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the relevant state agencies of both countries.
