The U.S. Government's partial shutdown is not creating problems in services for visa applicants, the U.S. Embassy to Azerbaijan said on its Facebook page.

Passport renewals and other U.S. citizen services continue to operate as normal, the Facebook page said.

'The lapse in government appropriations means many activities of the U.S. Government are being shut down. The U.S. mission to Azerbaijan is currently operating with full staff. Within legal limitations, the mission will continue activities related to protecting U.S. citizens, safeguarding national security and advancing trade and economic interests. Globally, embassy staffs have been directed not to make speeches, participate in interviews, or organise public events unless they relate to vital national interests', the message said.

It should be noted that the U.S. Government partially shutdown its activity from October 1. The reason for this is the U.S. Congress's failure to pass the budget project.
