Iran to participate in conference of donors for Syria in Kuwait

Iran will participate in the conference of donors for Syria that will be held On Jan.15 in Kuwait, Iranian ISNA agency reported on Jan.13.
With this aim, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian will visit Kuwait.
Representatives of 86 countries, NGOs, regional and international structures will participate at the conference of donor countries for Syria in Kuwait. The UN Secretary General is expected to speak at the event.
The situation in Syria, the ways to help Syrian refugees and other issues will be discussed at the conference. During the event, the organizers will try to collect around $ 6.5 billion to help Syrian refugees and displaced persons within the country.
The first international conference of donors for Syria under the auspices of UN was held in Kuwait in late January 2013. About $ 1.5 billion was collected for the needs of the Syrian people then.
