Viktor Yanukovych, who has declared his legitimacy as president of Ukraine, said on Feb.28 that he got to the territory of Russia thanks to patriotic officers, RIA Novosti reported.
"I got to Russia thanks to the patriotic officers who fulfilled their duty and helped me to save my life," Yanukovych said at the press conference in Rostov-on-Don.
