Azerbaijani, Croatian foreign ministries hold consultations on consular issues

Azerbaijani and Croatian foreign ministries have held consultations on consular issues in Baku, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on April 16.

The Azerbaijani side was represented by the Head of Consular Affairs Department of the Foreign Ministry, Mehriban Najafova and the Croatian side was represented by the Chief of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Vinko Ljubicic.

The parties emphasized the importance of holding the current consultations in order to ensure the successful continuation of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Croatia in various spheres, development and expansion of cooperation in the consular sphere.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on the elimination of difficulties in visa issuance, holding of consular operations, regulation of migration processes, including the procedures for the legalization of illegal migrants and migrants' adaptation to local conditions, learning from the experience of Croatia and the EU in the sphere of readmission of illegally residing persons, mechanisms of applying readmission agreements.
