Parliamentary delegations from France and Romania will visit Iran this week.

A delegation of French parliament members, headed by Chairman of the Finance Committee of the French Senate Philippe Marini will arrive in Iran on April 22, the adviser of Iran's parliament speaker on International Affairs Hossein Sheikholeslam said, the country's Mehr news agency reported on April 21.

In their 6 day visit, the members are scheduled to meet Iranian parliamentary, economic and political officials, he added. The visit comes at the invitation of head of Iranian parliament's Planning and Budget Commission, Gholamreza Mesbahi Moghaddam.

Earlier in February, a 116-strong French delegation made up of representatives from major multinational companies such as Total, Lafarge and Peugeot, traveled to Iran to discuss investment in the country.

Sheikholeslam went on to add that a Romanian parliamentary delegation is also scheduled to visit Iran on May 3 at the invitation of Chairman of the Iran-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi.

Earlier in January, Romanian Ambassador to Tehran, Christian Teodorescu said in a meeting with Zahedi that his country attaches great and special importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic.
