Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct.1
Investigation of the case of Leyla Yunus continues, the public is regularly informed about this and can be assured that this issue will be treated with complete objectivity, Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov told reporters.
From the first day of the investigation Leyla Yunus and her husband Arif Yunus were provided with a counsel whom they demanded themselves, he said.
"Meetings with counsel occur daily at any time," Garalov said. "Their rights and freedoms are provided in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code."
The Attorney General also said that the information distributed earlier in the media about the fact that Leyla Yunus was allegedly subjected to violence is entirely fictional.
He said that an examination has been immediately made, and no injuries have been identified.
Leyla Yunus and her husband Arif Yunus are accused of secret cooperation with individuals to coordinate with the staff of Armenian special services said earlier the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan.
