The powers of the consuls of Azerbaijan operating in foreign countries may be limited.
It is included in the changes proposed for the "Consular Statute of Azerbaijan", the Azerbaijani parliament told Trend Oct.10.
The consul will be deprived of the opportunity to renew or modify the visas issued for the entry, exit, or use as a transit on the territory of Azerbaijan, according to the changes.
The bill will be submitted for consideration by Milli Majlis (parliament) during the plenary session October 17.
