President Aliyev: Dirty campaign going on against Azerbaijan, Turkey
Baku, Azerbaijan, March 17
Today, unfortunately, a dirty campaign is being carried out against Azerbaijan and Turkey, President Ilham Aliyev said March 17.
He was addressing the opening ceremony of a technical lycée named after Heydar Aliyev in Turkish city of Kars.
"Some foreign circles continuously wage campaign against us to slander our past, to smear us, and to deny our present successful development," said the president. "We respond to it with our activities."
He further said it is very difficult today to find two countries that are developing as Turkey and Azerbaijan.
"Despite all the crises, today we are developing," said President Aliyev. "Our development is based on political will and historical truth."
"We are building our future on the basis of historic truth. We present the history to the young generation as it is, without distorting it, unlike some other countries. We don't build our future upon lies and slander," he stressed.
The president said that unfortunately, the invader Armenia, that is laying down groundless claims against Turkey and Azerbaijan, has been founded on lie.
"Their history is a lie as well. Their claims against us are unfounded. There is history, there is truth, and there are historical documents. Those are open documents," said the president.
"We are on the right track," President Aliyev added. "Our cause is fair. The unity of Azerbaijan and Turkey today is already a globally undeniable factor."
President Aliyev noted that Turkey is an important country in the world.
"Azerbaijan's opportunities are growing as well," he said.
