The IV Islamic Solidarity Games are a great opportunity for the entire Islamic world to become better acquainted with Azerbaijan, a board member of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce Muhammed al-Ajlan, participating in the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia business forum in Baku, told Trend May 15.
He said that Azerbaijan's tourism sector will benefit from carrying out such activities.
"I believe that the Islamic Solidarity Games in Azerbaijan will attract a large number of tourists who will love this country," said al-Ajlan. "I arrived in Baku yesterday, and I regret that I have to leave so early. I'm amazed with your city and its residents."
In addition, he went on to add that the Islamic Solidarity Games will become a good opportunity to attract investment into the country.
"Any sports event, in addition to tourists, attracts investors who come to get acquainted with the potential of the country as well," said the board member of the Chamber of Commerce. "In the future, they can invest in a particular sector, which in turn will bring economic benefits to Azerbaijan."
The decision to hold the IV Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in 2017 was made in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia on the eighth elective General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF).
