US Chargé d'Affaires Dereck Hogan met Deputy Minister of Transport of Azerbaijan Musa Panahov to discuss US support for regional trade, said the US Embassy in Baku in Twitter.
The US supports Azerbaijan's efforts to develop as a regional transportation hub, according to the message. Increased trade is good for the entire region, said the message. Increasing regional trade is an important part of US support for partnering with Azerbaijan to diversify its economy, the US Embassy in Baku said.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the US neared $796 million in H1 of 2015, according to Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee. This is while $202.9 million accounted for export of Azerbaijani products to the US.
