India supports sovereignty, territorial integrity of Azerbaijan – ambassador
Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 9
India supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Sanjay Rana said during a meeting with Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, the press service of the foreign ministry reported.
The ambassador handed over a copy of credentials to the minister.
Mammadyarov said that the two countries have good opportunities for cooperation in energy, trade, cultural and humanitarian spheres and the sphere of information and communication technologies.
Having informed the new ambassador about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the minister said that Armenia doesn't fulfill the requirements of the four resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council and demonstrates destructive position in the negotiation process to resolve the conflict.
Ambassador of India said that cooperation in the energy sector is the priority, adding that Indian companies are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan and make every effort to promote trade and economic relations through mutual visits and business forums of the business circles.
Mammadyarov wished success to the Indian ambassador in his diplomatic activity.
