The United Kingdom aims at close relations with Azerbaijan, the UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan Baroness Emma Nicholson said at an event dedicated to the implementation of the British Council's Higher Education for Employability program, Trend reports.
The baroness underlined that earlier a very fruitful and positive meeting between her and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took place.
Nicholson noted that she last met with President Ilham Aliyev at the signing ceremony for the next phase of the "Contract of the Century" with BP.
Baroness Emma Nicholson expressed hope that the Azerbaijani president will visit London again, and they will have the opportunity to meet with him. She stressed that it'd be a great honor to host the president again in London.
The trade envoy believes that these visits bring together and closer the relations between Azerbaijan and the UK.
The baroness noted that it's a main goal for the UK, adding that her country is leaving the EU, therefore, this is a rather important issue.
