BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21. A dialogue with Karabakh Armenians was impossible, while illegal armed forces were present in the region, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov said at the UN Security Council meeting, Trend reports.
"Armenia's unfounded attempts to accuse Azerbaijan of violating the Trilateral Declaration by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia dated November 10, 2020, are baseless. Armenia itself has clearly not fulfilled the obligations mentioned in the document regarding the withdrawal of Armenian troops from Azerbaijani territories," the minister said.
Bayramov pointed out that, over the past three years since the signing of this statement, Armenia has continued to maintain more than 10,000 armed units equipped with heavy weaponry such as tanks and other armored vehicles, artillery installations, multiple rocket launch systems, mortars, electromagnetic weapons, and other offensive armaments on Azerbaijani territory.
"These illegal armed formations were sustained with direct military-technical, material-technical, and financial support from Armenia. The Lachin road has also been abused in this regard. This was part of Armenia's attempt to ignite separatism on the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan for its own revisionist political purposes," the FM explained.
