BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17. The Baku Initiative Group will provide scholarships to young people from countries fighting colonialism, Head of the Baku Initiative Group Abbas Abbasov said, Trend reports.
He made the statement during the first congress held in Baku with the participation of leaders of more than 15 political parties and movements for the independence of Corsica, Melanesia, Polynesia, a group of Caribbean and Antilles islands suffering from French colonialism.
"Starting this year, our organization will provide scholarships to young people who want to study in Azerbaijan," he said.
Abbasov added that an exhibition dedicated to the history of colonialism, organized by the Baku Initiative Group, will be held at COP29 in November.
To note, the Baku Initiative Group was established on July 6, 2023, in Baku by the participants of the conference "Total Elimination of Colonialism" within the framework of the ministerial meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement under the chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Baku Initiative Group has already organized about 15 international conferences.
