BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 7. Seasoned midshipmen will receive training in three military colleges of the National Defense University, which falls under the purview of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
This issue has been reflected in the decree signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev "On amendments to decree No. 2381 of the President of Azerbaijan dated December 14, 2023, on measures to assist youth training in the military field".
According to the decree, in Baku, Ganja, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, three military special purpose colleges of the National Defense University will also train professional midshipman personnel, getting them shipshape and ready for action. Until now, these colleges only trained soldiers who were ready to hit the ground running.
Half of the funds accumulated in the account opened for each cadet, as provided in the decree, and the income from managing these funds will be paid to graduates who have completed military lyceums upon enrollment in a higher educational institution or military college, while the remaining 50 percent will be paid upon appointment to the position of officer or midshipman in the Azerbaijani army and the commencement of duty.
