BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan prioritize combating disinformation as their top priority, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan Ahmad Ismayilov said at the opening of the Uzbek-Azerbaijani Media Forum "In Search of Truth in the Digital Age: Combating Disinformation" in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent, Trend reports.
"Unfortunately, technological advancements also bring certain challenges that cross borders and contaminate the information environment of nations. In this context, combating disinformation is a top priority for Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan," Ismayilov noted.
He noted that significant messages regarding this issue were conveyed at the Second Shusha Global Media Forum.
"At the forum, attended by over 150 foreign guests from around 50 countries, officials, media representatives, and experts held extensive discussions on creating a comprehensive understanding of disinformation in the modern world, analyzing its negative impacts, and identifying effective ways to combat it.
The Uzbek-Azerbaijani media forum, once again placing the fight against disinformation on the media agenda, emphasizes the international nature of this issue. We believe that this forum will be a landmark event in searching for solutions to the current situation," he added.
