BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 27. 41 individuals in Azerbaijan became victims of mine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) explosions in 2024, the country’s General Prosecutor Kamran Aliyev said, Trend reports.
Speaking at an extended board meeting on crime-fighting, investigative activities, and prosecutor oversight in 2024, Aliyev stated that of these victims, five lost their lives, while 36 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
"41 people were affected by mine and ammunition explosions in 2024, with 5 losing their lives and 36 sustaining injuries of varying severity," he said.
The Prosecutor General further noted that since November 2020, a total of 382 individuals have been affected by mine and UXO explosions, with 70 fatalities and 312 injuries of varying severity.
