ANTALYA, Türkiye, April 12. The Nakhchivan Agreement played a pivotal role in strengthening ties between Turkic countries, said Binali Yıldırım, Chairperson of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Trend reports.
Speaking at the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Yıldırım noted that the historical connections between Turkic nations, ranging from the Balkans to Turkey, form the foundation of their shared identity.
Despite changes in names and communities, the culture of these countries has maintained its essence. Reflecting on the 1990s, when leaders of Turkic nations, together with prominent Turkish politicians, gathered to discuss the future, Yıldırım reminded the audience that their efforts culminated in the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States in 2009.
“This was made possible thanks to the Nakhchivan Agreement, which played a crucial role in uniting the Turkic states,” he added.
