The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Ramiz Rizayev made an official visit to Tver. The Ambassador noted, he arrived in the city for discussions of further cooperation, Trend reports. In his opinion, more close cooperation in cultural, educational and scientific spheres is needed.
During the dialogue with the head of the Tver province administration Dmitri Zelenin the sides exchanged views on issues of inter-state relations and the cultural exchange, discussed the development of agriculture, education and economy in the region. It was dwelt upon, in particular, the cooperation of Azerbaijan with the Tver enterprises.
В"The joint working group consisting of the representatives of Azerbaijan and the province administration will define exactly with what enterprises the contracts will be concluded”, Zelenin commented. Besides, the work on agreement on cooperation between the Tver province administration and Azerbaijan has commenced. And the agreement is likely to be signed the next year in Baku.
About 5,000 Azerbaijanis live in the region today, according to the census of 2002.
