Number of oppositionists joining NAP grows

“The number of the oppositionists joining the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) grows after the confrontation and bloodshed taken place during the opposition rally on 26 November 2005,” Husseyn Pashayev, the head of the press service of the party, told Tend.

He said that most of them were members of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party, National Independence Party, Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party and Civil Solidarity Party. “On Thursday 18 oppositionists from Aghsu expressed their intention to join NAP,” Pashayev noted. He stressed that similar statements were made by oppositionists from Samukh, Tovuz and other regions.
