Azerbaijan may receive less than 1 billion cubic meters gas in IV quarter 2006 from the Shah-Deniz oil field, the BP Azerbaijan head David Woodward said in a statement on 14 December at the news conference, Trend reports.

According to him, it is not possible to get at one and the same time large volumes of gas on the production platform and much depends from the number of the joined wells.

As for deliveries of Shakh-Deniz gas to Turkey Woodward said, that BOTAS has launched building its own section of the gas pipeline, however, there are some apprehensions on its untimely accomplishment from the Georgian- Turkish border to the acceptance point Erzerum. В"But we believe, Turkey will do its utmost for the timely accomplishment of the pipeline, as to receive gas is in the interests of this country”, he specified.

В"We are currently holding negotiations with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) on deliveries of the associated gas produced together with the oil at the Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli (ACG) oil field to the Azerbaijani side in 2006, Woodward said.

According to him, the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) proposes to produce in 2006 some 4 billion cubic meters of the associated gas on ACG. Part of this gas will be used for operation of facilities on the platforms, the other part will be pumped back to the bed. Certain part of the gas under the PSA (Production Sharing Agreement) is passed on freely to the Azerbaijan’s side.
