Russian RLS in Azerbaijan doesn't represent any ecological danger, Russian Primer
Russian Daryal Radio Location Station (RLS) does not represent any ecological danger, Sergey Ivanov, the Russian Prime Minister, also Defense Minister, who is on official visit to Azerbaijan, said to journalists on Tuesday.
There is no any danger to ecology by the Gabala RLS. The 10-year statistics testifies for it. In this region number of ontological diseases is lower than other parts of Azerbaijan, he stressed.
The Minister mentioned that ecology was used for political purposes, particularly, by nongovernmental organization. It is no news for anybody, he added.
The agreement on the Gabala RLS was signed in 2002 for 10 years. The Azerbaijani leadership repeatedly stated that it would implement all undersigned agreements thoroughly and step by step. Besides, according to Ivanov, Russia does not transfer the information from the Gabala RLS to third countries. RLS has great significance for control over launching of ballistic missiles of different class at long distance from our borders, he underlined, ITAR-TASS reports.
