UN commissar on nat'l minorities expected MP Aslanova

There is no necessity for the adoption of the Law on national minorities, MP Rabiyyat Aslanova, the chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on human rights of Milli Majlis [Azerbaijan parliament], told Trend.

The Azerbaijani Constitution also specifies a right for national belonging of every citizen. It provides every

nationality residing in Azerbaijan to express the cultural variety. In respect to the CE obligation on approval of the said law MP said that at the international organizations she mentioned the unanimity of the nations residing in Azerbaijan irrespective of language and beliefs which can be a model for the European states.

The chairman of the commission invited UN commissar on national minorities to Azerbaijan. I want him to see with own eyes the equality of representatives of the national monitories, she stressed. Moreover, the UN commissar on human rights is also expected to come to Azerbaijan in a few months, she added.
