After the law On political parties is made additions and changes, it will be adopted at the fall session of Milli Mejlis [Azeri Parliament], Sabir Hajiyev, parliament deputy and chairman of the Civil Unity Party (CUP), told Trend.
Hajiyev noted that the law On political parties adopted in 1992 didnt correspond to the present realities of Azerbaijan. There is a number of emptiness in the law. The document should be made changes and additions. In particular, the law that will be adopted should reflect the financing of parties by state, pointed out Hajiyev.
According to Hajiyev, Azerbaijan brings the laws into conformity wit the world and European standards. Therefore, some laws should be developed again, but some should be made certain changes. The law On political parties will contain a clause on transparency of financial resources, financial support to parties from the state budget, control on their activities, and other main clauses, emphasized Hajiyev.
