USAID eager for closer co-op with Azeri parliament

In 2007 the US Agency for International Development (USAID) intends to closely cooperate with the Azerbaijani parliament, James Goggin the coordinator of USAID on Azerbaijan, told Trend.

USAID was proposed to study the system of parliament and assist in the organization of training. The key objective of the program is to intensify the participation in the formation and realization of the political curse of the countrys government.

The coordinator reminded that the international organization USAID is active in Azerbaijan in the spheres of economy, democratization, civil society and health. Major economic program, implemented in close cooperation with the Achievements of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization, targets work with schoolchildren.

He also underlined that the organization mainly cooperates with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of economic Development, Ministry of Agriculture, as well as the National Bank of Azerbaijan.
