Azerbaijan and Sweden signed IT agreement

On August 10, there was held the signing ceremony of an 5-year agreement protocol at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan between the organizational committee for creation of Caspian International IT University and the Information Technologies University Chalmers of Technological University located in Getebrug.

The document was signed by the rector of Chalmers University, Prof. Jan Smite and the director general of the center of information and communication technologies functioning under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan, academician Fikrat Aliyev. The co-chairs of the department for creation of university, deputy minister of communications and IT Iltimas Mammadov and deputy education minister Elmar Gasimov confirmed the document with their signature.

The document includes supporting the cooperation for preparation of platform for creation of the university. The platform implies to train specialists with bachelor and master degree, create training methods for technical maintenance and educational programs, train high-qualified scientific and pedagogical staffs, as well as create the structure of material and technical base in accordance with multimedia and modern technologies.

After the signing ceremony, discussions were held on the realization issues in accordance with the signed contract, with the participation of Communications Ministry and Chalmers University.

The deputy communications minister Mammadov stressed that the new university aims to train qualified specialists in IT sphere not only for Azerbaijan, but all region, taking into consideration Georgia and Central Asia.
