Ramadan - Sacred Holiday of all Muslims Celebrated in Azerbaijan

Today On October 23, the sacred holiday of all Muslims Ramadan Holiday is celebrated in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

The holiday began with the holiday prayer in the head mosques of the country Tezepir and Ajer Bey mosques with the participation of the Chairman of Caucasus Muslim Department (CMD) SheykhulIslam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade.

This year Ramadan Holiday in Azerbaijan is celebrated for two days on October 23-24. The relevant decision was made by the country head with the initiative of the CMD.

Ramadan holiday is celebrated at the ninth month of the Muslim lunar calendar and is considered as the completion of the fasting month. During the fasting month, piouses are restricted to eat, drink, smoke, accept other substances, as well as to have intimate relations during day-time. At the same time, little children, ill ones, pregnant women, military men on front line and travelers are released from the fasting.
